My lifelong love affair with cosmetics began in 1975 after sitting at my grandmother's vanity for the first time. It was strictly off-limits but that pulled me toward it that much more without realizing how pivotal these moments would lead me toward a career in the beauty industry.
Surrounded by the essence of old-school glamour -- exotic perfumes, elegant combs, a gilded hand mirror, and creamy rouge -- I was totally and completely enthralled by a concept I was too young to embrace, but keenly aware that is was sacred.
After my grandmother passed away her vanity traveled a total of 1,500 miles, landing in my home in Buffalo. Flooded with emotion I watched it being carried into my studio and knew, in an instant, her vanity would become the centerpiece to my own craftsmanship.
With age comes wisdom...
Beauty is not meant to be learned, it should be innate.
Each one of us is born beautiful, perfect in the eyes of those who embrace us,
but somewhere along the way we learn to see our "flaws" rather than embrace them for what they are - UNIQUE!
In an age where photoshop has become an illusive standard, and perfection is plastered
on every magazine cover it's easy to lose the connection with your personal esteem. My own journey forced me to reconcile with the one person that deserved it most; My Self.
And with that I ask all my clients to seek out the same authenticity and invest in the one person that will always be there - YOU!
Daring Young Red wants to re-introduce you to your most divine, most perfect "Imperfect" self.
My personal mission is for every woman to reconnect and identify with her own
definitive beauty, and grasp just how unrepeatable you are.
Makeup and good skin care are effective methods for self care,
but the real catalyst to self-empowerment is believing in what you see reflected in the mirror.
So why Daring Young Red?
Named for the singular shade of scarlet lipstick I wore to my high school homecoming dance,
Daring Young Red captures the essence of womanhood,
and the path we walk together to embrace our most authentic selves.
